Who Am I?
Hi! I’m Kayla, a recent M.S. Global Health graduate from Georgetown University. With my knowledge in epidemiology and biostatistics, I seek to understand the intricate dynamics of disease around our planet and work to implement change for vulnerable communities around the world.
I am a current assistant research scientist for the New York State Department of Health, and I also privately contribute to other research projects in the epidemiology sphere. On this site, you’ll find a list of my current projects and pursuits and a display of some of my recent articles and class papers representing my multiple eclectic interests.
Enjoy!
Projects I’m Working On:
Since January 2021, I have been a trainee and research assistant for the VERENA Consortium, a collaborative network for predictive modeling in viral ecology. I have contributed to the VIEWS project (now under construction) and am in the process of preparing a paper for publication under the mentorship of the many wonderful scientists in the network.
Creative Writing for Georgetown’s literary magazine, The Anthem. Since joining in the spring of 2019, I have published five pieces with the magazine: “Poor Decisions”, “A Bus and A Bent Business Card”, “A Challenge”, “Pumpkinhead”, and “Getting Out”.
In addition to my college course load and commitments, I also offer editing and scholarship search services on the freelance website Fiverr. I have a five star rating and many positive evaluations of my work from previous buyers.
